Yugi has beaten all oppponenents who dared to stand up to him but now he faces the ultimate match. Ademon possessed man named Marik. They are both in yhe finals and the winner of this match shall face kaiba in the main event of the battle city tournament. Yugi and Marik are both equilvelent opponents because they both obtain an egyptian god card which are two of the most powerful cards in dueling history. In the middle of the match Yugi was famished for hope and faith. Marik had destroyed his god card but in the end Yugi came back head on. He won the match and had qualified for the finals where he had to face kaiba the world's second best duelist in history. Yugi was well renowned as the first.
Yugi in this book reminds me of percy in the lightning thief. They both battle through outragous rivals but while doing this they are recovering information about themselves or the mysterious thing about them. Yugi is dueling but in between the lines he is finding out little by little what he was in the past. He turned out to be a pharoah of ancient egypt. Percy is battling giants and monsters but he is also learning that he is the son of posiedon and learning more and more about the twelve olympian gods and godessess.
